The VinFast Friendship Caravan

A Brand in Motion

Instead of asking consumers to visit a showroom, VinFast brought the showroom to the streets.

Through the VinFast Philippines x Vietnam Friendship Caravan, public roads across the metro became a moving brand experience where people could see, touch, and drive VinFast vehicles firsthand. Spanning multiple weekends across key cities, the initiative combined cultural storytelling, hands-on engagement, and real-world demonstrations to turn curiosity into confidence.

The Challenge

As VinFast entered the Philippine market, it faced a critical barrier: trust.

While interest in electric vehicles was growing, so were concerns around durability, servicing infrastructure, and long-term ownership. As a new entrant, VinFast needed to go beyond traditional marketing to:

  • Establish credibility
  • Differentiate from emerging EV competitors
  • Address hesitation through real-world proof

The Strategic Approach

A strategy was grounded in a simple insight: trust is build through experience.

Rather than relying on static displays or conventional launches, VinFast deployed a dynamic, multi-city caravan that allowed people to encounter the vehicles in motion and engage with them directly.

Turning Roads into Brand Stages

At the core of the activation was a convoy of VinFast vehicles traveling across major roads and landmarks, transforming everyday environments into live brand showcases.

Select vehicles featured vibrant wraps inspired by both Vietnamese and Filipino culture, turning each unit into a moving visual statement that captured attention and sparked conversation. By embedding the brand into familiar public spaces, the experience felt accessible, relevant, and real.

From Visibility to Participation

Beyond awareness, the activation was designed to drive participation.

Engagement hubs were set up in each city, inviting visitors to interact directly with the vehicles through:

  • Test drives
  • Product demonstrations
  • Conversations with brand specialists

This shifted audiences from passive observers to active participants, building understanding and confidence through firsthand experience.

Cultural Connection

Cultural storytelling added depth to the experience.

The caravan celebrated the connection between Vietnam and the Philippines, incorporating national symbols alongside curated touches such as Vietnamese coffee and familiar Filipino street treats like cotton candy and sorbetes.

These elements created a welcoming, community-driven atmosphere that encouraged longer dwell time and deeper engagement, transforming automotive discovery into a shared cultural moment.

Seamless Execution

Delivering the caravan required precise coordination across multiple cities, including route planning, permits, and operational logistics.

Vehicles were mobilized into a synchronized convoy, supported by:

  • Mobile charging solutions
  • Support vehicles
  • Coordinated city-level operations

While the experience appeared spontaneous and energetic, it was underpinned by disciplined planning and execution.

From Awareness to Trust

The VinFast Philippines x Vietnam Friendship Caravan redefined how a new automotive brand could enter the market.

By bringing the product directly into people’s daily lives and enabling firsthand experience, the activation bridged the gap between awareness and trust.

It demonstrated that the most effective way to introduce innovation is not just to showcase it, but to let people experience it.
