Tech that Moves With You - Not Ahead

For years, RunRio has been the gold standard in race organizing in the Philippines— valued not just for its precision in logistics, but for cultivating one of the country’s most passionate running communities. In two of its most high-profile events— the 2024 Samsung X2 Ultra Marathon and the 2025 Galaxy Earth Day Run— Samsung partnered as title sponsor, not merely to show presence, but to bring purposeful tech to a purpose-driven crowd.

The challenge? Create a booth experience that enhanced the event without overshadowing it. Speak to an audience that wasn’t there to shop, but to sweat. Hit KPIs without compromising authenticity. The solution came down to four core principles: runner relevance, fast and frictionless engagement, purpose-driven design, and strategic resourcefulness.

Samsung X2 Ultra Marathon 2024: A Guided Discovery

For the 2024 X2 Ultra Marathon, the Samsung booth followed a narrative-style flow—turning tech tryouts into real-world storytelling. Participants were invited to test the Galaxy Wearables on a treadmill surrounded by immersive forest visuals, simulating trail conditions while highlighting the device’s fitness tracking features.

Real-time insights showed runners exactly how the wearables responded to movement, heart rate, and pace—bridging the gap between curiosity and functionality. The journey ended at a minimalist product display and purchase zone. No hard selling. Just seamless tech integration in a space built for action.

Galaxy Earth Day Run 2025: Experiene. Reimagined

By the time the Galaxy Earth Day Run came around, the booth had evolved into something more open, intuitive, and user-led. Reimagined as a 360-degree space with no fixed entry or exit, the experience invited spontaneous interaction from all angles.

  • Front: A photo vignette featuring Galaxy’s signature health rings doubled as a post-run magnet for selfies and shared moments.
  • Right side – Active Zone: Instead of treadmills, short dynamic fitness challenges were introduced—turning the Galaxy Watch Ultra into a tool for play and performance.
  • Center – Display Cube: A cleverly repurposed rotating cube showcased both Galaxy Wearables and the S25 Series, enhanced by looping product content for the curious.
  • Back – Community Corner: A “Today, I run for…?” Freedom Wall offered runners a moment of personal reflection, alongside another photo opportunity with the official key visual.
  • Final Touch: A branded phone strap giveaway, with easy app-based mechanics, served as a practical and on-brand keepsake.

Two Events: One Mission. Always Evolving

Working on two major events in quick succession proved one key insight: even a great activation can get better. By building on learnings, listening to the community, and adapting on the fly, the team created a booth experience that was smarter, more dynamic, and deeply in tune with runners.

The result? Booths that didn’t just showcase a product—they told a story, honored the running community, and embodied what it means to be a brand that runs alongside you, not ahead of you.
